10.7.08 - Education Through Music!!
I wanted to write a little bit about a foundation that I played a benefit for a few months back. The foundation is called Education Through Music. Their goal is to form long-term partnerships with inner-city elementary and middle schools that lack sufficient resources. They help schools provide music instruction to every child, regardless of talent or ability, including those in special education. They believe that every child deserves a well-rounded education: one that includes music.
It is something that I feel strongly about, having grown up with music in my life. I really enjoyed playing this benefit and speaking with the people from ETM about the amazing things they are doing. I feel that especially in these dire times, we need to think about our children and the generations to come.
For more information about Education Through Music or to make a contribution, contact the ETM office directly at 212-972-4788 or go to www.ETMonline.org
5.21.06 - New Brianna Sage Review!!
Yeah! One of Brianna's favorite music websites just put up a review about Brianna and "In My Hands"!! "
"Hailing from Brooklyn, 20 something Brianna Sage can be found playing all the local spots in NYC pretty regularly. Citing Jackson Browne, Sarah McLachlan, and Madonna as influences, the young singer-songwriter plays acoustic rock music that actually rocks. In Never Have Your Love the verses are calm and her angelic voice soothes, but during the chorus its tone changes to a plea and leaves me feeling her melancholy. And really, what else can you ask for from a musician. Regarding her song Words; "Words is the song that represents me the most. It's something different. It's what I wanted--- something that stands out." And, Brianna Sage is ready to do just that. " - Starpolish
1.1.06 - The first "In My Hands"
review is in!
"Funky female singer/songwriter Brianna Sage
is a great showwoman in a genre that’s bloated and confined
to some extent. She breathes life into poignant lyrics that challenge
what you’d expect a woman to sing about. I only wish that
when people close their eyes and think of female singer/songwriters
the image of Brianna Sage would come to forefront immediately instead
of some of the lame “artists” that the major labels
throw at us—yes I’m talking about you Avril."
